Tech Quest Implementation Podcast

My TechQuest was written to an audience of teachers and administrators to request funding and support of the Fastt Math software program. The implementation podcast below takes you through the necessary steps for successful implementation for such a project once funding has been approved.

  1. Michele,

I like that you created a vodcast, given that blogger does not allow for audio to be uploaded to blog postings. I had a difficult time uploading my audio to a different site and then embedding it. Did your post show up in itunes? (because I could never get mine to)

Fastt Math sounds like a very beneficial tool. I certainly seems like you have put a lot of thought not only into what is the best avenue to attack your problem, but how exactly to implement your solution. I agree that assessing teacher and student use is vital. We have a plethora of programs at my school that are underutilized. If programs are not being used the funding should be re-routed.

I also agree with your idea to train an individual in a fastt math leadership role. This will aid those who are struggling to grasp the program.

It is also extremely useful that you give suggestions on how and when the program could be implemented in classes.

This is a very detailed posting on how fastt math could be utilized. My only question is, are you contemplating how it COULD be implemented due to the fact that you could not get a free trial to test with students? I assume this is the case.

Great job on selecting the program and outlining how its use could be most beneficial to teachers and students.

  2. I can see that the program you have chosen is going to be a fairly expensive and possibly extensive implementation process but sounds very worthwhile. You have put a lot into this project in order to persuade a school to buy into getting the software and therefore you must feel that it has a lot of potential in raising expectations of the students who use it. Having a maths coordinator in school who would be willing to implement and be enthusiastic about it will be imperative - good luck.
